Microtel Baguio - Hotel Review

Way back in September 2014, me with my husband and our daughter decided to go Baguio. Nothing spectacular, just wanting to get out our house for awhile and see some different sights. Having arrived early in the evening and no idea about accommodations whatsoever, we decided to check out this hotel located conveniently very close to the bus terminal.

Microtel is just a short walk from the bus terminal. It was a very nice hotel with such nice rooms as seen below.

The room was very spacious, with a window seat which our daughter particularly enjoyed! The 2 beds were perfect for us as we cannot fit comfortably on just one bed. We do at home but who wants to do that when on vacation, right? The beds, particularly, were very comfortable as they are chiropractor beds. My husband enjoyed the internet ready ports in the room while our daughter enjoyed the cable TV. She definitely didn't want to miss her shows. And me, well, I enjoyed the rooms' full sized bathroom and hot water!

The complimentary breakfast the next morning was also okay. I mentioned okay, not great, because mainly there are some things I was looking for that weren't on offer but they do have unlimited food as it was buffet style.

Prices are subject to change, of course, as it does with other hotels in Baguio depending on the season. They do have off-peak and peak rates but the prices is still affordable considering the amenities and the quality of rooms that they do have. Prices usually starts at 2500 pesos and goes up.

When in Baguio: Arca's Yard

One Sunday afternoon when all I wanted to do was catch up on sleep, my hubbie kept on asking me to go out for dinner. Feeling resigned, I got up and took a shower. I'm glad I did because we ended up having a nice family dinner at Arca's Yard. What the hell is Arca's Yard, you might ask? Well, Arca's Yard is a café museum and mini library located at Tiptop, Ambuklao Road in Baguio City. It has a collection of books, photographs, paintings, artifacts like wooden spoons and spears, and wood bust carvings among others. The café is located in a very high place, meaning the view in their terraces are to die for. Going there is very easy, if you don't mind the somewhat narrow road (in my mind, at least) and the many road constructions that goes there for the time being. The directions can easily be found in your phone's Maps if you have it in your phone. But otherwise, you can find it here .

About Me

Welcome to my blog! As it happens this is not the first time I've had a blog. I tried the paid kind a year or so ago, wasn't able to maintain that as I've got things that got in the way. So for now, I'm taking a free blog which I hope will be easier to maintain. I'm Lesley Anne but I mostly preferred to be called Anne. The reason is that somehow, people have a hard time pronouncing "Lesley" as long as I can remember so to simplify, it's Anne. I'm a mother of one, my unica hija, Keirah Julianne, is now in Grade 4 - time flies! I'm a mother, a virtual assistant, a WAHM, what else...I love cooking, browsing the net, printing tons of worksheets for my daughter off the web, shopping, books, bags, etc. The usual things gurls like, I guess.
